Materials

Almost any material can be marked, including metals, plastics and ceramics. Depending on the material type and surface matrix the ideal mark will one that contrasts the surface color. See our Gallery for various images of marked parts or products.  Various laser settings such as frequency, speed, power and pulse width are used to produce marks of contrasting color. These settings will affect the way material’s surface is restructured. The color change can result from removal of coatings, deep engraving, bleaching, oxidation by annealing, carbonization and foaming. Click here for more information on the technology that we use.
